Camouflage Orange does not qualify. Mesh clothing is legal but not recommended. Some wildlife must be tagged after being caught, including big game such as deer, moose, bears and turkeys. It is important that hunters understand the harvest identification and/or reporting requirements for the wild animal they hunt and ensure that the animal is properly labelled and declared. In Colorado, moose hunting must take place in 4-point areas. This will ensure adult moose hunting and allow better bull hunting between 4 and 6 points. Guided hunting tours on private land offer opportunities in the area. If you prefer a more fleeting enemy, hunting wild birds in the highlands is another popular hunting option in Colorado. Counties along the northern and eastern borders of the states are well-known hotspots for highland birds, including Yuma County and Logan County. Habitat stamps cost $5 each and are required each year when a hunting licence is updated. These are available from the Wildlife Division Office, at retail stores serving hunting supplies or by calling DOW at 1-800-244-5613. Habitat stamps are not required for day permits. Hunters are strongly advised to wear bright orange.

Big game hunters (and turkey hunters during the shooting season in November) must wear at least 400 square inches of bright orange above their waist on their head, chest and back during gun season. These include bowhunters during the november firearms season and during the antlerless deer season from January 1 to 15. During open gun or mouth magazine season, big game hunters (and their companions) must wear a bright orange hat and at least 200 square inches of bright orange outerwear on the waist. Of these, 100 square inches must be visible from the front of the fuselage and the other 100 square inches from the rear.
